Officers
- Clara Kwun, LCSW, President
Clara has been actively involved at the school for a number of years. Prior to becoming President, Clara chaired the Committee on Trustees and the Leadership Transition Committee. In addition, Clara served on the Head of School Search Committee. Clara, who has a daughter in the 5th grade, is a licensed clinical social worker working in private practice.
- Russell Jones, Vice President, Chair, Committee of Trustees
Trustee and parent of a preschooler and 1st grader, Russell joined the school community in 2006. Russell is a partner at Deloitte & Touche LLP specializing in enterprise risk and data protection. In addition serving as Vice President, Russell is also a member of the Campaign Committee.
- Marian Baldauf, Treasurer, Chair, Finance Committee
Marian is a parent of a 1st and 2nd grader who joined the school community in 2005. Marian is a Vice President at Dodge & Cox, a San Francisco Investment Management Firm. Besides serving as Treasurer, Marian was a member of the Leadership Transition Committee and is currently a member of the Project Committee.
- Michael Northover, Secretary
Michael and his family joined the SFS community in 2005 and he has been actively involved since that point. He has a daughter in 2nd grade and a son in kindergarten. Michael has served on multiple hiring committees and been a member of the Diversity Committee. He started his own business, JTM Developments LLC, almost two years ago in real estate development.

- Orpheus Crutchfield
Orpheus is a non-parent Trustee and President of Strategenius, an educational placement firm dedicated to developing leaders of color in independent schools. Orpheus has worked with the school since 1992, placing several of our faculty and administrators of color and joined the board in 2005.
- Dolores Elkin

- Alicia Fernandez, M.D.
Alicia is a parent of a 4th grader who joined the school community in 2004. Alicia is Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at UCSF based at San Francisco General Hospital where she is currently a primary care physician.
- Francesca Gessner ’90
Francesca is an alumna who joined the Board in 2007. She is a Deputy City Attorney in San Francisco.

- John Hedges
John is a Former Board President and Alumni Parent (Class of ’92 and Class of ’94). He has been part of the school community since 1981 and is the Executive Director of the Pro Bono Project Silicon Valley.
- Maria Hekker, Chair, Campaign Committee
Maria is a parent (4th grade and 8th grade), Trustee and Chair of the Campaign Committee. Maria joined the SFS community in 1999. An international business lawyer, Maria is the former General Counsel of Barra and the former Chief Operating Officer of Thoughtware Worldwide.
- Sandra Hernandez, M.D.
Sandra is a parent of a 4th grader and is Chief Executive Officer of The San Francisco Foundation. In addition, she is an assistant clinical professor at UCSF School of Medicine and maintains an active clinical practice at San Francisco General Hospital in the AIDS clinic. Prior to joining the board, Sandra was a member of the Leadership Transition Committee.
- Tamara J. Hicks, Psy.D.
Tamara, who joined the SFS community in 1998, is a past President of the Board of Trustees and co-chaired the Head of School Search Committee. She has two daughters (Class of ‘09 and a 5th grader). Tamara is a Clinical Psychologist with a private practice and the Lead for Disaster Mental Health of the American Red Cross-SF.
- Barbara Landolt, Chair, Audit & Risk Management Committee
Trustee and parent of two elementary students (2nd grade & 4th grade), Barbara joined the Board in 2008 and currently chairs the Audit/ Risk Management Committee. Prior to joining the board, Barbara was an active member of the investment committee and was a member of the financial task force during the last strategic planning process. Barbara is the Assistant Treasurer at AAA of Northern California, Nevada, and Utah (CSAA).
- Trey Lathe
Trey is a parent of a 2nd grader. Prior to joining the board, Trey served on the Diversity Committee, been a member of school hiring committees and has volunteered for many school functions. A number of years ago, Trey co-founded OpenHelix, a genomics training and research biotech company, and is currently the Chief Scientific Officer.
- Irene Lee, Chair, Investment Committee
Irene is a parent of twins who are in kindergarten this year. Irene chairs the Investment Committee and is also a member of the Project Committee. Irene retired in 2000 from a career in investment management. Most recently she was a managing partner at Palantir Capital investing in high tech companies.
- Tom Little
Tom is the Director at Park Day School in Oakland. Tom has spent his entire 33-year career at Park Day School. As one of the founding teachers in 1976, Tom taught grades 4-6 for ten years and has been Head of School for the past twenty-two years.

- Goldie Nam
Goldie joined the board in 2005. Goldie has been actively involved in launching SPEAK, the Cultural Kitchen and was an active volunteer at the school prior to joining the Board. She has one son at the school in the 5th grade.
- Liza Pannozzo, AIA, Chair, Project Committee
Liza joined the Board in 2007. Prior to that, Liza volunteered for several years on the Site committee. Liza is an architect and has worked with many schools in the Bay Area. Liza’s son is in the 4th grade.
- Matt Plut
Matt has been actively involved at the school since his son started at SFS in 2000. Prior to joining the board Matt was a volunteer on the Diversity Committee and as a trustee co-chaired the committee for three years. Matt was also involved on the investment committee and served as the annual fund chair. Matt served as the President of the Board from 2007-2009. Besides his active involvement at the school, he operates an insurance firm based in San Francisco.
- Gretchen Sandler, Chair, Public Purpose Committee
Trustee and parent of a 2nd grader and kindergartner, Gretchen joined the Board in 2007. She has taught 3rd grade and worked extensively with new and mentor teachers in San Francisco. Prior to joining the board, she was a room parent and active volunteer in the preschool.

- Geoff Williams ’79, Chair, Site Committee
Alum, parent of two boys in 5th grade and 2nd grade, and trustee, Geoff has had many different experiences at SFS. He is a member of the Class of 1979 and now chairs the Site Committee. Geoff is a realtor in San Francisco with Paragon Realty.
- Chris Yin, Chair, Diversity Committee
Chris is a parent of three daughters at The School, who are in 5th grade, 2nd grade and Kindergarten. Chris, whose family joined the SFS community in 2002, is the chair of the Diversity Committee. A classroom teacher since 1992, Chris is the Freshman-Sophomore Class Dean at Lick-Wilmerding High School.
