Officers
- Matt Plut, President
Matt has been actively involved at the school since his son started at SFS in 2000. Prior to joining the board Matt was a volunteer on the Diversity Committee and as a trustee co-chaired the committee for three years. Matt was also involved on the investment committee and served as the annual fund chair. Prior to becoming Board President, Matt served as the Vice President of the Board. Besides his active involvement at the school, he operates an insurance firm based in San Francisco.
- Clara Kwun, LCSW, Vice President, Chair of Leadership Transition, Chair of Committee on Trustees
Clara is the Vice President of the Board, Chairs the Committee on Trustees and Chairs the Leadership Transition Committee. In addition, Clara served on the Head of School Search Committee. Clara, who has a daughter in the 4th grade, is a licensed clinical social worker working in private practice.
- Marian Baldauf, Treasurer
Marian is a parent of a preschooler and a 1st grader who joined the school community in 2005. Marian is a Vice President at Dodge & Cox, a San Francisco Investment Management Firm
- Brian Carr, Secretary
Brian and his family joined the SFS community in 2005 and he has been actively involved since that point. He has twin boys in the 1st grade. Brian is the Human Resources Director for Goodwill Industries in San Francisco.
Members
- Fay Coad, Chair, Public Purpose Committee
Fay has two children at the school in 3rd and 5th grade. Formerly the Chair of the Culture and Community Committee, Fay now chairs the recently established Public Purpose Committee. Fay works as an Executive Search Consultant at DEC Consultants.
- Orpheus Crutchfield
Orpheus is a non-parent Trustee and President of Strategenius, an educational placement firm dedicated to developing leaders of color in independent schools. Orpheus has worked with the school since 1992, placing several of our faculty and administrators of color and joined the board in 2005.
- Alicia Fernandez, M.D.
Alicia is a parent of a 3rd grader who joined the school community in 2004. Alicia is Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at UCSF based at San Francisco General Hospital where she is currently a primary care physician.
- Francesca Gessner ’90
Francesca is an alumna who joined the Board in 2007. She is a Deputy City Attorney in San Francisco.
- John Hedges
John is a Former Board President and Alumni Parent (Class of ’92 and Class of ’94). John has been part of the school community since 1981. John is the Executive Director of the Pro Bono Project Silicon Valley.
- Maria Hekker, Chair, Campaign Committee
Maria is a parent (3rd grade and 7th grade), Trustee and Chair of the Campaign Committee. Maria joined the SFS community in 1999. An international business lawyer, Maria is the former General Counsel of Barra and the former Chief Operating Officer of Thoughtware Worldwide. She is currently working on her first mystery novel.
- Tamara J. Hicks, Psy.D.
Tamara, who joined the SFS community in 1998, is the immediate past President of the Board of Trustees and has two daughters at the school (8th grade and 4th grade). Tamara is a Clinical Psychologist with a private practice and the Lead for Disaster Mental Health of the American Red Cross-SF.
- Russell Jones
Trustee and parent of a preschooler, Russell joined the school community in 2006. Russell is a partner at Deloitte & Touche LLP specializing in enterprise risk and data protection.
- Glenn Kenyon

- Barbara Landolt, Chair, Audit & Risk Management Committee
Trustee and parent of two elementary students (1st grade & 3rd grade), Barbara joined the Board in 2008 and currently chairs the Audit/ Risk Management Committee. Prior to joining the board, Barbara was an active member of the investment committee and was a member of the financial task force during the last strategic planning process. Barbara is the Assistant Treasurer at AAA of Northern California, Nevada, and Utah (CSAA).
- Tom Little
Tom is a non-parent Trustee who is the Head of School at Park Day School in Oakland. Tom has spent his entire 32-year career at Park Day School. As one of the founding teachers in 1976, Tom taught grades 4-6 for ten years and has been Head of School for the past twenty-two years.

- Pamela Myers

- Goldie Nam, Chair, Culture and Community Committee
Goldie joined the board in 2005. Goldie is the Chair of the Culture and Community Committee. Goldie has been actively involved in launching the Cultural Kitchen and was an active volunteer at the school prior to joining the Board. She has one son at the school in the 4th grade.
- Liza Pannozzo, AIA, Chair, Project Committee
Liza joined the Board in 2007. Prior to that, Liza volunteered for several years on the site committee. Liza is an architect at SMWM, a local firm that works with many schools in the Bay Area. Liza’s son is in the 3rd grade.
- Gretchen Sandler
Trustee and parent of a 2nd grader and preschooler, Gretchen joined the Board in 2007. She has taught 3rd grade and worked extensively with new and mentor teachers in San Francisco. Prior to joining the board, she was a room parent and active volunteer in the preschool.
- Geoff Williams ’79, Chair, Site Committee
Alum, parent of two boys in 4th grade and 1st grade, and trustee, Geoff has many different experiences at SFS. He is a member of the Class of 1979 and now chairs the Site Committee. Geoff is a realtor in San Francisco with Paragon Realty.

- Chris Yin, Chair, Diversity Committee
Chris is a parent of three daughters at The School, who are in 4th grade, 1st grade and Preschool. Chris, whose family joined the SFS community in 2002, is the chair of the Diversity Committee. A classroom teacher since 1992, Chris is the Freshman-Sophomore Class Dean at Lick-Wilmerding High School.
