| Fourth Grade Overview
Fourth graders gaze at their world with growing intellectual curiosity. They become more self-reliant as they develop into independent problem solvers and critical thinkers. They begin to learn the importance of organizational skills, study habits and time management. Fourth grade is also a time when students begin to learn about themselves as learners and their role as members of the greater community. It is a time when students begin to think outside of themselves and are able to reflect on the question, “How do my actions affect others?” As this growth takes place, it is crucial that the students are supported by a safe, learning environment that exercises and expects kindness, respect and appreciation for the similarities and differences of others.
