Buy Local – 2012 SFS Art Calendars and Notecards on Sale Now!
Our annual SFS Calendar and Notecards are filled with SFS student art that captures "the city" through the student’s eyes! Calendars are $20 each and notecards are $10 for a set of 10 cards and envelopes. Purchases can be made at the Front Desk this week. Many thanks to Mike Martin (Mika, 1st) for photographing all the paintings for the calendar and notecards.
Lost and Not Yet Found
Please encourage your child to check Lost and Found throughout this week, or check yourself, for clothing, lunch boxes, and books. Elementary/Middle School Lost and Found is currently located next to the Art Room Door and the rack is overflowing. Please LABEL all personal items and especially jackets and sweaters to help us get these items back to the rightful owners. We'll clear and donate unlabeled clothing on Friday, December 16 (most likely donating to "One Warm Coat"). Items picked up at the skate rink will be held in Lost and Found to retrieve in January!
Tis the Season to Have Lice Checks
Please note we will be conducting lice checks of all grades upon return from the holidays. You can help in two ways:
• Comb out your child's hair to ring in the New Year and each day through January 6
• Make sure your child is shampooed and gel free upon return to school
Summer Program 2012 Update
We are delighted to give you a preview of our 2012 summer program! Summer camps will be held in the North and South Classrooms and in the kitchen. The summer brochure with more details about our camps will come out in early January. In the meantime, click here for a listing of class dates and teachers.

The San Francisco School SFO Student Art Exhibit Has Been Installed!
Our school’s exhibit area is in Terminal 1 on the lower level, near baggage claim. There are two exhibit areas, one on each end of the terminal. The exhibit looks fantastic and some passengers stopped to look at the paintings while our student’s pieces were being installed. Again Terminal 1 includes these carriers: Alaska, Airtran, Delta, Southwest, US Airways, Frontier and Horizon. If you have questions, contact Ruth Cardillo (5th - 8th), Karen Goodkin (1st - 4th) or Tiphani Russell (K). We hope you have a chance to view this wonderful exhibit!
Preschool Parent Ed on Thursday, January 5th, 4:30-6 PM, SFS Activity Room
Please mark your calendars for an exciting and informative event: "Talking to Your Child About Difference" facilitated by Tarah Fleming, creator of Start Dialog: Courses in Cultural Competency. Tara inspires and elicits rich, probing conversations about what "difference" means and how the language we use (or don't use) informs our children. We also welcome early Elementary parents and guardians and anyone interested in and intrigued by this topic!
