A Message from Steve: Let’s Come Together This Saturday!

I hope that each of you is making the necessary plans to attend The San Francisco School’s 32nd Annual Auction for Tuition Assistance! As you know, the event is this Saturday, April 9th, starting at 7 PM at the Jewish Community Center of San Francisco.

Our community is central to the success of our school. And, every year, the Auction and our collective investment in indexed tuition shows off our community at its best. Now is the time to act in support of raising $100,000 for our Indexed Tuition program which currently supports over 30% of our students. We must all do what we can!

What you can be doing right now includes:

1) Clear Your Calendar and Invite Friends: If you have been coming to the Auction every year, thank you, and do not stop now. If you have not been in a while, or not yet witnessed the event, this is the year we hope you choose to attend. And, if this is your first year at the school…well…this is a can’t miss event… you have to come ! The sliding scale cost is designed to assure that everyone can attend. There is plenty of room for family and friends, too, so gather your group NOW.

2) Get Ready to Bid, Party, and Bid Again: Many of the auction items are available only online at www.sfschool.org/auction. The Live and Silent Auctions will take place on Saturday, April 9. So, bid online…bid high and often…and then come help us celebrate 32 Years of raising funds to support our diverse community!

Finally, there has been some talk of “topping” my Karaoke performance during last year’s Live Auction. F.Y.I. I do have something up my sleeve for Saturday night, and I have enlisted a little help from my friends! I look forward to seeing you this Saturday to support the auction and celebrate our community!

Beatles Appropriate Attire is Encouraged!

All Together Now,

San Francisco Bike to School Day
San Francisco Bike to School Day is an event to encourage San Francisco students and their families to safely try out riding to school on one day each spring. It is an "Encouragement" event of the San Francisco Safe Routes to School Program. It will be held this Thursday April 7. If your family would like to participate in this effort, please read on…

  • Check this SF Bicycle Guide for information on safe equipment, safe riding, bicycle laws, and additional helpful tips: http://www.sfbike.org/download/resources/SF_BicycleGuide_2006_000.pdf
  • Consider a safe route. Link to http://www.sfbike.org/mapper/ and enter your trip details. Or, look at our established Walk in Thursday routes. Check here for Glen Park route and here for Noe Valley route and times.
  • If you’re concerned about parking your bicycle for the day, we have 3 parking areas at school: 1 in the parking lot (bring a bike lock), 1 by the Elem/MS Play structure, and an overflow bike parking area in the alley between 3rd Grade and the Spanish Room.
  • If you have a bicycle in need of repair, or need an affordable bicycle, The Bike Kitchen is a terrific resource with a public purpose! http://www.bikekitchen.org/

Summer Camp Deposits!
If you have registered your child for any of our summer camps but have not paid your summer deposit yet, please make sure to pay it so you will not loose your spot! Checks can be left in Harald's mailbox.
