Dear San Francisco School Community: The amazing school at 300 Gaven Street is really a gift from all the preceding generations of San Francisco School families, staff, and community supporters. Everything we love about the school, from school buildings to school values, from curriculum to endowment, is a result of the noteworthy investment of everyone who has been at the school, all the way back to 1966. Our predecessors built something very special with their generous gifts of time, talent and financial resources. Our challenge each year is to renew the vision, and work together to assure a wonderful year for our children, and especially to leave the school an even better and stronger institution for all future generations.
Tuition does not provide all the funds necessary to run The San Francisco School: It takes a healthy infusion of voluntary parent time, talent and financial contributions to sustain the programs in which our students flourish. Parents are expected to participate in each area of the fundraising program including the Annual Fund, Walkathon, Auction and Capital and Endowment efforts. Extensive fundraising efforts have provided for the purchase and renovation of our buildings and play areas, furnished our classrooms, enriched our educational programs and most notably assured a strong indexed tuition program. Beyond fundraising events which need strong volunteer leadership, there are many other ways for families to participate, including as a trustee or on Board committees, helping in the classroom, volunteering in the library, participating on parent workdays and leading admissions tours.
