Counseling Services
The Counselor works to support the community in nourishing mentally and emotionally healthy kids and families. While the Counselor does not provide “therapy” on campus, our Counselor is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. The role of the Counselor is to help identify student challenges, clarify the nature of what is causing difficulty, and subsequently provide support, resources, and referrals to assist the student in being successful. The Counselor also provides education for the school community about child development, mental health issues, and cultivating a culture of wellness at SFS. Other services include individual counseling sessions with students, collaboration with teachers, and consultation with families.
