I chose the SF School because of its dedication to developing an inspiring Spanish program across all grades.

I was born in Puerto Rico and raised in Philadelphia. I fondly remember attending Potter Thomas Elementary. I grew up speaking Spanish at home and was introduced to academic Spanish in 4th Grade when I was pulled from my regular classroom, placed in the basement of a nearby church, and told that I was in the newly formed bilingual classroom. At 13, my family moved back to the Island where I attended High School and University. I obtained a BA in Education from the University of Puerto Rico and began teaching Preschool in 1988. I started teaching Spanish in 1993 in Orlando, Florida. I came to San Francisco to teach Spanish Immersion at Buena Vista then transitioned to The San Francisco School in 2005.
