Gabriel Lucas ’87
Gabe has been working in the educational technology field for over a decade. He is the principal of Ed Tech Recruiting, a management consulting and recruiting firm supporting schools wanting to pivot their technology strategy and staffing. In 2014, Gabe co-founded ATLIS (Association of Technology Leaders in Independent Schools), a nonprofit professional development association for technology administrators. He served as the first ATLIS Board President and continues to serve on its board today. Previously, Gabe worked in multiple schools in the Bay Area in both teacher and administrator capacities: San Francisco State University, Foothill College, Menlo School, and Castilleja School. Gabe holds an undergraduate degree in Mathematical and Computational Science from Stanford, a Master in Information Management and Systems from UC Berkeley, and a Master in Mathematics from SF State.
Gabe’s fondest memories of The San Francisco School are centered around the strong sense of community at 300 Gaven Street: students, teachers, staff, and parents. Music and creative art education were also important foundations of Gabe’s education. As a trustee, Gabe wants to help SFS maintain its sense of community and whole-student experience, while also ensuring that the school plans for a strong, sustainable future for many generations to come.
