FIrst Grade Teacher
Since 2005, I’ve been thrilled call The San Francisco School home - a place where music echoes through our walls and there is space to celebrate the small moments of childhood.
I grew up in the cornfields of the Midwest where I spent summers acting on stage, dancing, reading and awaiting thunderstorms. After pursuing a BA in Dance and Spanish, I lived with my extended family in the Dominican Republic where I taught English to Dominican Major League Baseball prospects. It was here that I caught the teaching bug and went on to get master’s degrees in Elementary Curriculum and Language Arts. Since then I’ve taught in diverse settings in private and public schools in Chicago, Indiana, the Dominican Republic and Honduras. Along with teaching grades First through Sixth, I taught pre-service teachers reading and writing methodology at Indiana University.
