Mission
The purpose of the Culture and Community is to build and educate an inclusive school community through education and parent/staff participation.
The Culture and Community is responsible for:
- Raising parent awareness on parenting, diversity and multi-cultural issues.
- Helping with new family transition to the school
- Maintaining a consolidated list of all parent education activities hosted by various committees and classrooms.
- Overseeing the room parent e mail network and host family program.
- Collaborating with the development office in maintaining overview of volunteer expectations and development.
- Adding cultural awareness and diversity by means of the Cultural Kitchen. Celebrating diversity through food.

Mission
The mission of the Public Purpose Committee is to promote student, adult, and institutional action at the neighborhood, educational, civic and global levels. The Committee develops parent, staff and institutional policies and programs that inspire SFS adults to model humanitarian spirit; assures resources for school programs that empower students; and seeks avenues for SFS as an institution to be actively engaged in community partnerships that contribute to the public good.

The Building and Grounds Committee is responsible for developing and maintaining the physical structures of The School. The Committee oversees maintenance plans, including workdays, for current buildings; works with architects to develop plans for facility expansion or upgrade; researches land acquisition and suitability; and acts as liaison with appropriate agencies.
