The Seventh Grade Program builds on the foundation laid in sixth grade, pushing students to gain self-awareness as leaders and learners. Students engage in an academically rigorous program while serving in increasingly responsible leadership roles within the school. Seventh Graders are consistently pushed to connect all aspects of their learning both to themselves and to the larger world. Individual and group reflection, careful attention to student goals, and a closely connected advisory program support students' further academic, social, and emotional growth during this challenging and vital part of adolescence.

Drumming at Carnaval
All Middle School students choose short-term elective classes, with Latin Percussion as a perennially popular choice. These students culminated their electives program by performing on the School's award-wining float in the 2000 San Francisco Carnaval parade.
Hiking at Point Reyes
Each Middle School class backpacks for three days in June at Point Reyes National Seashore, studying natural history and taking time to put closure on the school year in meaningful ways. This group was taking a day hike to Bass Lake.
Experimenting in Science
Sixth, Seventh, and Eighth Graders all formulate original science questions and conduct experiments and research for presentation at the School's annual Middle School Science Fair. Seventh graders, including this student, consistently move on to the city-wide Science Fair held at the Randall Museum.
