The San Francisco School Summer Program for 2008

Our camps offer something for everyone, from preschool through middle school. Classes take place in our regular classrooms, with plenty of time for playing in our spacious yards. Campers have access to our sand areas, play structures, gardens and basketball courts. In addition, many classes include bus trips to fascinating and off-beat locations throughout San Francisco.

You can count on our summer programs being interesting and engaging, because we are passionate about our subjects. Build a river, explore the animal kingdom, improve your sports or Spanish skills, or perform Shakespeare, while laughing and learning all summer long!

There’s nothing like the sight, sound and feel of cascading water to stimulate the imagination! In River Design Camp, kid’s explore art, architecture and ecology as they construct a fantastic river world with real rain, waterfalls, lakes and islands. Along the banks of the river campers learn arts and craft techniques as they build hills, houses, towers, castles, forests and gardens, statues and more. Creating special features that link or individual plots such as fences, walls, gates, roads, bridges and boats introduces concepts of civics and urban design. The resulting 35-foot river landscape becomes the centerpiece for a Grand Tour for parents and friends on the final day of camp! Photos and more info at www.riveropolis.com. Gregory Gavin, visual artist designs site-specific public art projects and educational programs for schools, museums, neighborhoods and public places.
