Cathy joined the SFS community in 2013 as a Middle School parent and joined the Board in 2015. As a trustee, she works to bring her perspective as a former public school parent and community advocate to help SFS fulfill its mission. In 2019, as Chair of the Public Purpose Committee, along with Libby Rider and Raveena Rihal, she introduced the Families for Families Initiative and the SFS Weekend of Service to deepen the connection and engage SFS families with the broader community around issues of poverty and people experiencing homelessness in San Francisco.

Cathy works as a strategy and development consultant focused on investment in social impact and education programs to support children and families. She earned her B.A. in Child Study and American Studies from Tufts University. Cathy lives in Glen Park with her husband, Bill Rusitzky and their two children.
