Inside SFS

Dave Whitelaw

Vice Chair
Parent, 5th & 7th Grader

A member of The San Francisco School community since 2014 when his son started in the North Class, Dave still remembers the feeling of walking in the front gate for the first time and feeling at home. The passion of its teachers and staff, combined with the strong sense of community, have only strengthened that feeling. As a strong believer in the School’s mission, Dave is looking forward to supporting SFS as it embarks on the next chapter of its history implementing the Strategic Plan and is particularly passionate about ensuring that its students emerge as global citizens.

He and his wife Sarah have two children at SFS. Dave previously served on the Finance Committee and served as a Room Parent.

Dave is Vice President, Business Planning & Operations for Inclusive Impact & Sustainability at Visa, helping the organization coordinate the execution of its portfolio of programs across the company and across countries. He previously worked on strategic issues in Acceptance at Visa, helping to grow the number of merchants around the world that accept Visa. Prior to Visa, he was Director and CFO of Edgar, Dunn & Company, a boutique strategy consulting firm focused on the payments industry. He holds an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College, a Master’s in International Relations and Economics from the School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) at Johns Hopkins University, and an AB in History from Princeton University.
