Christina Hughes

From my first visit to the San Francisco School, I have been struck by the commitment from the SFS community to promoting imagination, a love for learning and a sense belonging.

I find that when diversity and culture are celebrated, students feel accepted, supported and are able to become the people they want to be.

I am a Marriage and Family Therapist and earned my Masters degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of San Francisco. I gained much of my clinical experience in public and charter schools in San Francisco, along with a few years spent in Boston.  I am passionate about supporting kids to recognize their strengths and build social emotional awareness. I love that working in schools allows me to partner with children’s teachers and families.

I was born and raised here in San Francisco, in nearby Bernal Heights. When not at school you can find me at the park, on a hike with my husband and our daughter, sailing in the bay or practicing my Italian with family.
