“Every kid in Third Grade is a student and a teacher.” —Third Grade Student
Third Graders at our school:
- Wade through the wetlands, photographing birds and salt resistant plants.
- Research a topic about California Indians and teach us about tattooing or tule boats or catching eels.
- Teach each other about endangered species around the Bay, about different kinds of seeds and how they travel, and about carnivorous plants and how they are adapted to trap and digest insects.
- Explore their passions by presenting a Teaching Lesson toward the end of the year, enlightening us about Taekwondo, Cleopatra, The History of Flight, or Beatboxing.
Whether creating art projects about multiplication, reading Cinderella stories from around the world, or cooking a Mexican feast, Third Graders are up to their elbows in learning throughout the year.
