Founded in 1966, The San Francisco School cultivates a diverse, inclusive community nurturing compassionate learners.
The San Francisco School was founded in 1966 by a spirited group of preschool teachers and parents committed to creating a diverse community and raising adventurous, compassionate children. For nearly 60 years, this tradition of community and collective dedication has remained strong and one of the defining characteristics of the School. We are intentional in cultivating a community that is diverse, inclusive, and grounded in authenticity. Students are at the center of everything we do, and there is a shared sense of purpose among educators, families, and staff in creating a vibrant, equitable, and supportive learning environment.
We recognize the importance of offering meaningful opportunities for families to connect—whether through conversation, collaboration, or shared experiences—as we collectively nurture and guide the next generation. Our students learn by example, watching the adults around them engage in lifelong learning and global citizenship with curiosity and care.
Every form of involvement, from event participation, attendance at parent education programs, and volunteerism, strengthens our community and enhances your child’s educational journey. Your growth and involvement directly impacts your child’s development and success.
