2025-26 Tuition

Tuition at SFS is indexed and payable in one annual payment, four payments, or ten monthly payments.

  • Preschool: $1,500-$43,600
  • Lower School: $1,500-$43,600
  • Middle School: $1,500-$45,800

2025-26 Extended Day (optional)

Our Extended Day Program begins at 7:30 am (8:00 am for preschool) and runs until 6:00 pm. Package rates vary with frequency of participation. Families who qualify for Indexed Tuition can apply their same discounted rate to Extended Day and Summer Camps, up to 50%.

What is Indexed Tuition?

Our commitment to socioeconomic diversity means that not every student is charged the same amount for tuition. Our Indexed Tuition (IT) program is sliding scale, providing access to families who might not otherwise afford an SFS education and making the school more affordable to others. Currently, 29% of our families pay reduced tuition.

Indexed Tuition levels are calculated via Clarity based on assets, income, expenses, and debts. SFS then considers each family’s special circumstances and the school’s available IT funds ($2 million this year).

Through this program, the 2025-26 tuition assistance awards range from $3,600 to $44,300 (8% to 97%). We will apply the same rate that the family receives for tuition to Extended Day and Summer Camps, up to a discount of 50%.

How to Apply for Indexed Tuition

To be considered in the first round of IT decisions, returning families must complete a Clarity application by December 31, 2025. Prospective families must apply by January 9, 2026. The mobile-friendly application takes under 30 minutes and can be saved and resumed at any time.

There is a $60 application fee; you may share your application with other Clarity schools at no extra charge. After submitting, please check your Clarity dashboard for any requests for additional tax documentation.

If you need assistance, use the in-app “Help” button or contact support@clarityapp.com or 206-210-3752 (English & Spanish).

Please reach out to Toni Russell, Director of Enrollment Management, with any questions about Indexed Tuition.

Indexed Tuition FAQ

Who is given priority for Indexed Tuition awards?

First priority is returning families, then new families in order to maintain cultural, gender, age, and economic balance across grades.

What factors into how much Indexed Tuition is awarded?

The IT Committee evaluates all sources of family income, assets, debts, family size, number of students in tuition-charging institutions, and other circumstances. Families are encouraged to apply for external funds (e.g., The Basic Fund, Guardsmen Scholarship) first. Non-working parents’ contributions are recalculated based on SFS guidelines.

Who needs to fill out the Clarity application?

Each parent, stepparent, or partner—regardless of legal status—is required to complete a separate Clarity application. Custodial parents should coordinate with non-custodial parents to ensure both complete the process.
